Cong joined Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects in 2025. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia School of Architecture. In 2019, he received the Virginia ASLA Student Merit Award for his contributions to the Yamuna River Project at UVA.

Prior to joining NBW, Cong worked as a landscape designer at AECOM Asia Company Limited in Hong Kong and previously held a position at Nelson Byrd Woltz’s Charlottesville office. His past projects span a wide range of scales and typologies, including public housing developments, wetland conservation initiatives, and the revitalization of culturally significant landscapes. His experience reflects a strong interest in ecological resilience and the integration of historical narratives into contemporary design.

Outside of professional practice, Cong is passionate about visual arts and traditional craftsmanship. He enjoys sketching, ceramics, and exploring the intersection between art and landscape. His creative pursuits often inform his design approach, bringing a personal and tactile sensibility to his work.
