Chris Porter


Chris holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia (2023), where he received an ALSA Certificate of Honor. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia (2017), with coursework and research in forest ecology, estuarine ecology, and working landscapes. Prior to graduate school, Chris accumulated dirt under his nails in gardens and farms in Virginia and Spain and worked as an environmental scientist on mineland remediation in the Navajo Nation. As a graduate research assistant, Chris worked alongside coastal engineers and resource managers from the National Park Service to develop new approaches to “nature-based infrastructure” for rapidly changing coastal parklands.
