NBW’s work is contained within four typologies - Garden, Park, Community, Farm - that speak to an expansive range of projects. Each demands a set of considerations - scale, place, audience, ecology - that provide a framework for the design process. This taxonomy is not meant to be mutually exclusive; in fact, most NBW projects fall within more than one category. However, it is through these typological frameworks that the work of Nelson Byrd Woltz explores the extraordinary potential for ecological performance, stewardship and connection with the land.
