Paul joined Nelson Byrd Woltz in October of 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Built Environment degree majoring in Landscape Architecture in 2003 and a Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture with distinction in 2008, both from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
Post graduation, Paul worked as a designer in Newcastle, UK for the North Tyneside Council before shifting to landscape construction work in Mallorca, Spain. It was this direct experience linking design and implementation that focused his interest in materials and plants and instilled the importance of detailing in the execution of successful design. He has since worked in both Australia and North America. His approach to design responds to the character of the site and more broadly, the benefits of fostering connections with the outdoors and the natural world. This drives his focus toward well designed and ultimately well used spaces within larger systems.
Paul has worked on a range of projects at NBW including Hudson Yards in Manhattan and residential work in Manhattan, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island. He led the design and construction on a broad-scale agricultural facility in Kentucky, which includes equestrian facilities, habitat enhancement, and a barn conversion into a premium wedding venue.
Paul is leading the Melbourne field office, and his current projects include Cornwall Park, Auckland, Orongo Station, New Zealand, Dalness Farm in Tasmania, Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne, Lakeside property, Queenstown.
