FLIGHT 93 NATIONAL MEMORIAL : SHANKSVILLE, PA
Selected as the winner from 1,100 entries, the design proposal for the 2,200-acre site of the Flight 93 crash in central Pennsylvania comprises five components. Once a field of coal mines, the landscape design addresses both spiritual and ecological healing. Phase 1 – the Sacred Ground - is scheduled for completion on September 11, 2011. More information:
