AMERICAN VETERANS DISABLED FOR LIFE MEMORIAL : WASHINGTON, D.C.
This design competition proposal for a three-acre site in the monumental core of the nation’s capitol honors disabled American veterans. The memorial is a bridge acknowledging the disconnection of the site from the National Mall and insists on literal and symbolic (re)connection to the monumental heart of the City partly by resurrecting an historic canal and orienting the memorial toward the U.S. Capitol building.
