DORIS DUKE GARDENS : DUKE UNIVERSITY, DURHAM, NC
Nelson Byrd Woltz designed a master plan and served as the prime for the construction of the 12-acre entrance area to the historic Duke Gardens. Program included an entry road, arrival court, a parking garden for 175 cars, an amphitheater, a 10,000sf visitor center, new gardens associated with the Visitors Center, and relocation of the horticultural service area. Collaboration with Atkin Olshin Lawson Bell Architects.
