SEVEN PONDS FARM : ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA
Project began in 1999 with goal of transforming a 140-acre cattle farm into a biodiverse agrarian landscape supporting as many native plant and animal species as possible. Conceptually divided into four quadrants - native meadow, working farm, cultivated gardens, and wild native garden – the land is carefully managed with regular meadow burns to control invasive species. Two severely eroded watersheds are gradually being remediated.
