The Conservation Agriculture Studio (ConAg), a project of NBW, is a strategic association of designers, scientists, and landowners that works collaboratively to reenvision the productive and symbolic potential of cultivated landscapes. Through its work, the Studio seeks to uncover and express the unique character and ecology of each site, while augmenting existing and future agrarian opportunities. Projects that emerge from the ConAg process strive to be artful and efficacious. Protection and preservation of resources - ecological, cultural, and aesthetic are considered in parallel with the public benefit of productive conservation. Best management practices of sustainable agriculture and conservation ecology are synthesized with the highest standards of design excellence to embody a model of landscape stewardship that can address complex needs in uncertain terrain.
