Sherry Whiting

Adalie Pierce-McManamon, Staff Designer, RLA, LEED AP

Adalie Pierce-McManamon joined Nelson Byrd Woltz in 2011. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design (2007), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science, Anthropology, and Economics from the University of Virginia (2002) with a minor in Architecture.  While at Harvard, she received the ASLA Honor Award and Penny White Research grant for investigating cultural landscapes in Germany. 


Prior to joining NBW she worked as a designer and project manager at Sasaki Associates in Watertown, MA and D.I.R.T. studio in Charlottesville, VA. Her work at Sasaki focused on sustainable campus planning and urban design, including master planning of an international medical campus in Pakistan, and downtown redevelopment strategies for Clayton, MO.  Adalie is also involved with the Landscape Architecture department at the University of Virginia, where she teaches a Digital Representation course.  


At Nelson Byrd Woltz, Adalie is currently working on projects in the Mid-Atlantic region for the Boy Scouts of America, Norfolk Botanical Garden and Research Triangle Park.
