She earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia in 2010, where she was active as a teaching assistant.  While at UVA, she worked on research (with support from a UVA Howland Traveling Fellowship and Nature Conservancy internship) focused on the intersection of resource management strategies and livelihoods on a threatened floodplain in Zambia, resulting in two publications, an exhibit, and an ASLA Honor Award for Research.

Allegra holds an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology from Harvard University (2000), and previously worked as an Environmental Planner for Design, Community & Environment in Berkeley, California.  Her interest in cultural landscapes, civic infrastructure and conservation are evident in her current projects in Virginia and West Virginia.
